The Magic Valley

On Sunday I was accompanied by Leif, a counselor with our program, to Vallemaggia (Magic Valley). We decided to bike down the valley twenty miles through little villages and pathways along the River Maggia. We stopped for a swim at the picturesque spot (below left) and then made the rest of the way down to Locarno and the bottom of the valley. Getting back to the van was a bit of an adventure and poor Leif had to wait with the bikes in Locarno for 3 and half hours.

Yesterday morning I hosted a breakfast for the counselors at my place, although they ended up doing most of the cooking. They enjoyed the view of the surrounding mountains from the balcony.

Last week, I learned that my 13 year-old niece will be coming for second session. I am very excited to share the TASIS experience with her. She flies over in just eleven days time.

A few days ago, I booked a one-way flight for New Delhi, India where I will start the second leg of my trip. The departure date will be August 26th from Milan.

Ciao tutti!

  1. I’m envious of all of the beautiful scenery around you! Merf and I were in Cape Cod last week where we took in some great views of our own, but yours is breathtaking. The best kind of breakfast to host is one during which everyone else cooks. Congrats for pulling that off! Your niece will have a remarkable experience. How cool that she has that opportunity.

    1. Hey Dan! Hope you are having a great summer! Thanks for keeping up with the blog! Can’t believe Blue Ridge is starting up again soon. Hope you feel well-rested and ready for another school year! Best! -Tim
