The night before: how to say goodbye…

Avon, CT – Tomorrow I fly out for Frankfurt, Germany to visit a good family friend, Chiara, and her family.  It’s been kind of a whirlwind week between wanting to see everyone and trying to get ready for what might be a considerable amount of time away from the States. I had the chance to go up to Massachusetts and see my brother Darge and his family. We ventured on an overnight hike in the White Mountains – great weather the first afternoon, but clouds settled in overnight and it was cold and rainy on our second day. I think the kids enjoyed it though. Then I drove up to Maine to see my parents and hit LL Bean where I bought a 0 degree sleeping bag. The last few days have been a little nuts trying to finish last-minute details. I’ll say goodbyes tonight and tomorrow to my other brother Tom’s family and to my best friend Craig and his set of hooligans.
